The story of McLaren Vale’s terroir began over 1600 million years ago and today ancient fragments ripple across the greater region like a giant patchwork quilt. Close proximity to the Great Southern Ocean and St Vincent Gulf in combination with incredible old vine material indeed forge wines that express a unique liveliness that typify the regional expression. With freshness and bright natural acidity derived from the marine climate there’s an exotic and kaleidoscopic luminescence to McLaren Vale’s wines. Domaine Clarendon
Domaine Clarendon began as a unique project in 2003 to establish a propagate a winemaker-designed vineyard that was unlike anything ever initiated before in Australia viticulture. Located on the McLaren Vale side of border of the cool climate Adelaide Hills wine region it is the highest altitude vineyard in McLaren Vale.
Fast forward nearly 20 years and the success of the Domaine Clarendon Syrah ultimately lead to the addition of the Domaine Clarendon Grenache and Domaine Clarendon BDX to enhance the suite of Domaine Clarendon wines.
